Production Managing for Charity

There are those moments in your life when you have the pure pleasure of meeting amazing people who are doing some truly incredible things.  My most recent of these moments was meeting and assisting the non-profit team of A Leg To Stand On, an organisation dedicated to working with treatment providers in Asia, Africa and Latin America to provide free high-quality and continuous orthopaedic care to more than 18,000 children in need within their program.

It was magic to hear how much of a difference this program has made to so many and being a part of this fundraiser was an absolute honour.

Here’s a sneak-peek at the ‘Rocktober’ event complete with a silent auction and billed performances from garage bands from within the financial businesses that support the cause…

Progress & Gratitude

As with all businesses, you lay milestones at every key growth point and celebrate still being in business…

That is the case here as in January we rebranded to DRGNFLY Productions with a sexy new log, we became an LTD, we’ve grown our relationships with some key freelance creatives and have had our biggest team onsite recently for a conference.  If that wasn’t fabulous enough, we’ve been involved with such a variety of different jobs and have just produced our first highlight video with 2 more in production for our clients – You can see this here or at the bottom of this post.

Wow, huh?!

As the Director/owner and developing this from a freelancer transitioning from his previous career, I have so much gratitude every day to be doing something I absolutely love.  There are so many people out who don’t take chances to risk it all to be happy, however, I’m not going to stand here and say (or sit and type) that it was an easy choice because frankly it wasn’t. Certain events happened that were out of my control at the time and if they hadn’t there is a good chance I’d still be doing what I was doing before and not feeling fulfilled. Whoa, now that is an even scarier thought!

Transitions like this don’t happen by yourself and I’m not giving any motivational speeches but literally does take a village to do anything these days if you want it bad enough. I put myself out there and I like to believe that people saw and continue to see how driven and passionate I am about what I do. It is to those who have been on, assured, assisted, enhanced and/or guide me along my journey that I have to thank (family, friends, clients and mentors) most of which know who you are already. But, for my readers, please stop by my Instagram to see who these wonderful folks are in my recent posts 🙂 Oh and don’t forget to follow us all – we follow back 😉

I’ll leave it there for now, so please enjoy this first highlight video…

Don’t forget to discuss your next photography/videography requirements with us!

A Street Shoot with – Talented Photographer @_Alreadythere

It’s probably normal practice for most people, but I still find it weird reaching out to people via social media to make friends over shared interests or collaborate together…

What can I say, I’m a bit old school sometimes!

However, luckily for me, I met this Instagrammer at a friends BBQ and, to keep it short we didn’t waste too much time locking our first photography Meet-up in London for some street shooting.

Great guy and very talented.  He wouldn’t mind me saying “A King of the MoodyGrams” 🙂

Find him here: @_alreadythere

I’d like to add that usually I did this by myself or with people I’ve known, so this (you could say) was like my first Insta-Meet-up (I know that BBQ happened but the work was on Insta so gimme a break!).

Here’s a few of my favs:
